Female umpires to officiate in Ranji Trophy this season

This season marks the first instance that female umpires will be asked to officiate in the men’s cricket matches. The three female umpires — Vrinda Rathi, Janani Narayan, and Gayathri Venugopalan — will officiate in only a few matches, however, as the Ranji Trophy coincides with the India (women’s) home series against Australia.
